The U.S. targets Cuban sovereignty through economic, information, and military assaults. By severely limiting trade with Cuba and threatening other nations who dare circumvent the blockade, the U.S. aims to isolate Cuba and make survival untenable for Cubans.

One of the primary threats the U.S. sees in Cuba is the prevalence of socialism and critical thinking. With Cuban and Floridian shores extended only 90 degrees apart, the threat of socialist ideals migrating onto U.S. soil puts the entire U.S. domestic project of misinformation and under-education at risk.

Cubans lead with solidarity despite living under the boot of imperialist influence. We have much to learn from the Cuban people about showing up for working-class people in their global struggles for freedom and sovereignty.
